Sociologist of housing, organizations, and local government.
I'm a Ph.D candidate at UCLA in the Department of Sociology. My research examines urban life at the intersection of the built environment, organizations, and governance using qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. My dissertation research, supported by the American Sociological Association and the John Randolph and Dora Haynes Foundation, studies how affordable housing developers using public subsidies shape housing possibilities for low-income renters. In addition to research, I am passionate about undergraduate education and introducing students to research in the social sciences.
