I'm a Ph.D candidate and sociologist who studies urban, political, and economic social dynamics. My research examines housing, homelessness, and local governance in the Los Angeles region using qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. My dissertation research, supported by the American Sociological Association and the John Randolph and Dora Haynes Foundation, studies how affordable housing developers using public subsidies shape housing possibilities for low-income renters. In addition to research, I am passionate about undergraduate education and introducing students to research in the social sciences and humanities.
